My Myka

Ryan has been trying to get me to mountain bike with him for several months...  well maybe years.  I have gone a few times with him and rode one of his bikes, and never really enjoyed it much.  He kept telling me that I needed a bike that fit me better.  One that was sized for me...  I didn't really believe him as I walked the big blue bike up and down hills.  He was so patient with me.  He encouraged me.  He helped me.  Sometimes he held my bike as I rode down really rocky and step sections that were intimidating to me and so easy for him.  I couldn't have done it without him.  Finally one day I relented and told Ryan it was time to get a bike that was just right for ME.  We searched a few stores and of course Ryan looked at the best and most expensive bikes while I looked for the cheapest most basic bikes.  Finally we found the perfect bike.  Nice enough to satisfy Ryan and cheap enough to satisfy me, although I won't admit to the cost because it still was more than I thought we should spend...

Meet my new bike, Myka.

Myka has been good to me.  I now have a testimony of riding a bike that is the right size for your body.  It has made a HUGE difference.  I still walk on some big up hills, and I still feel intimidated on some big down hills, but what has grown is my confidence.  Thanks to Myka and Ryan I now actually enjoy mountain bike riding!  Plus, all the rain we have had has made the mountains so green and beautiful!  The wild flowers are amazing.  I wouldn't be able to see a lot of it without Myka taking me there.  Oh, and we saw a rattle snake last week too!  Can't wait to take Myka out again and challenge myself and enjoy the beautiful scenery.  PLUS I get to spend time with my cute hubby...  ;)

the cutest mustache

Ryan decided to get a jump start on Mustache March and began growing a mustache while we were on vacation in Colorado.
Camden also grew a mustache when he drank the most delicous yogurt drink.

Which mustache do you think is cuter?

The Cabin and the Company

While we were in Colorado we stayed at Stacey and Heath's place for 2 nights and this awesome cabin for 2 nights! We had a blast! Below is Heath making us a super YUMMY Valentine's Day Breakfast! It sure was delicious!

I couldn't get Jace to actually look at the camera until we were sledding. I guess the TV was a little more interesting than me trying to take a photo.
Camden and Ryan in the kitchen. Camden LOVES to eat! Whoever had food was Camden's best bud! What a cute little guy! So snugly too! Miss those boys!

Stacey making her "I'm having fun face!"

I love how Jace has his arms up over his head in the photo below. Just chillin... Watching the Olympics... Just like dad...

Camden, I miss your cute face! I miss your laugh! I miss that you always wanted me to hold you but really all you wanted was something to eat. You are so cute! Can't wait to see the Reed family again soon!

Thanks for letting us stay and play!! We love you guys!

Just like riding a bicycle...

While we were in Colorado, Ryan and I decided to hit the slopes and do some snowboarding. We thought maybe a half day would be fine since neither Ryan or I had been boarding in a long, long time. I can't speak for Ryan but for me it was back in my college days... well over 10 years ago! Plus, I didn't ever go consistently enough to get really good at it. The best was a conversation Ryan and I had before we went. I told Ryan I thought I would probably spend most of the day falling and laying in the snow. He said, "I won't fall. Not even once." I didn't really believe him, but the day turned out just like that. I fell a lot and Ryan never did... This was the only picture someone else took of us. The rest are all super cute self portrait photos. ;)

Well, I guess Ryan took this photo of me. He was SOOOO sweet. I told him to leave me and go do some runs on his own - seeing as I was incredibly slow. He didn't. He never left me. He was my biggest cheerleader and I have to say that I definitely wouldn't have had as much fun had I been by myself. Thanks hubby!

This is our attempt to capture the view behind us... It sure was beautiful. We stayed in Tabernash and this ski resort, Sol Vista, was about 10 minutes away. It was smaller than most, but just perfect for us. (Plus it was cheaper than the bigger one Winter Park Resort and there were less people).

Ryan's really sexy mask... It snowed a bit while we were up there. Ryan was totally prepared for that!

Here is a good look at the mountain. It was so beautiful! It snowed and then cleared up in about 10 minutes! So pretty!

This is the "I am having fun" face! No, he never did fall...

Here he is in all his glory. What a cute guy! Notice the mustache? Yes, that is a mustache not a dirty lip. Ryan thought that since Mustache March is coming he might as well get a good start on his mustache. No, not a fan, but I guess once a year is ok. Yes, it is red... and poky.
We had a really fun time snow boarding! We might even try it again here locally! Oh, and thanks to our friends for loaning us all the snow clothes! We would have been cold with out...

Newest Member of our Family

Yep, Ryan got a new car for CHRISTMAS! This was his excited face... I video taped the reveal but due to lack of excitement and no "Toyota", or in this case "Ford", jumps I have not posted the video. Photos will have to do...

The story? Well, we had been looking for a new car for a few months, and Ryan wanted a truck. Of course I didn't... Ryan did a lot of car shopping with me while I drove, and drove, and drove many different types of cars, with still no decision made. Once I suggested he go look at trucks, his eyes lit up and he did his shopping. He came home one days with deals from the Ford dealership and the Toyota dealership. All we had to do was go sign the papers. (And let me tell you, they were AMAZING deals!). I still didn't like the idea of a truck...
SO, I decided I would surprise him with the truck he had already picked out for Christmas! It was a really fun surprise! I didn't tell ANYONE! The dealership was kind enough to keep the car for a few weeks so I could bring it home for Christmas. I asked a friend of ours to help me pick it up and then he drove it to his house. While we were out on Christmas Eve our friend parked the truck in the back yard. (We have RV access... in case we ever get an RV...).
Anyway, we opened all our gifts on Christmas morning and then I told Ryan there was something else in his little ornament stocking. It was the car key. He was pretty excited. We drove around the neighborhood in our PJ's. It sure was fun!
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, Ryan did get me some awesome gifts for Christmas including crown molding!
We did some other fun Christmas things in December, like visit family, attend Christmas concerts, celebrate Christmas with friends, see Santa, and of course celebrate the birth of our Savior. BUT, I think the thing that we'll remember about Christmas 2009 is the new truck. It was fun for me to get and I know Ryan loves it.

Today is a special day for me. Go HERE to see why!
