The Cabin and the Company

While we were in Colorado we stayed at Stacey and Heath's place for 2 nights and this awesome cabin for 2 nights! We had a blast! Below is Heath making us a super YUMMY Valentine's Day Breakfast! It sure was delicious!

I couldn't get Jace to actually look at the camera until we were sledding. I guess the TV was a little more interesting than me trying to take a photo.
Camden and Ryan in the kitchen. Camden LOVES to eat! Whoever had food was Camden's best bud! What a cute little guy! So snugly too! Miss those boys!

Stacey making her "I'm having fun face!"

I love how Jace has his arms up over his head in the photo below. Just chillin... Watching the Olympics... Just like dad...

Camden, I miss your cute face! I miss your laugh! I miss that you always wanted me to hold you but really all you wanted was something to eat. You are so cute! Can't wait to see the Reed family again soon!

Thanks for letting us stay and play!! We love you guys!

Just like riding a bicycle...

While we were in Colorado, Ryan and I decided to hit the slopes and do some snowboarding. We thought maybe a half day would be fine since neither Ryan or I had been boarding in a long, long time. I can't speak for Ryan but for me it was back in my college days... well over 10 years ago! Plus, I didn't ever go consistently enough to get really good at it. The best was a conversation Ryan and I had before we went. I told Ryan I thought I would probably spend most of the day falling and laying in the snow. He said, "I won't fall. Not even once." I didn't really believe him, but the day turned out just like that. I fell a lot and Ryan never did... This was the only picture someone else took of us. The rest are all super cute self portrait photos. ;)

Well, I guess Ryan took this photo of me. He was SOOOO sweet. I told him to leave me and go do some runs on his own - seeing as I was incredibly slow. He didn't. He never left me. He was my biggest cheerleader and I have to say that I definitely wouldn't have had as much fun had I been by myself. Thanks hubby!

This is our attempt to capture the view behind us... It sure was beautiful. We stayed in Tabernash and this ski resort, Sol Vista, was about 10 minutes away. It was smaller than most, but just perfect for us. (Plus it was cheaper than the bigger one Winter Park Resort and there were less people).

Ryan's really sexy mask... It snowed a bit while we were up there. Ryan was totally prepared for that!

Here is a good look at the mountain. It was so beautiful! It snowed and then cleared up in about 10 minutes! So pretty!

This is the "I am having fun" face! No, he never did fall...

Here he is in all his glory. What a cute guy! Notice the mustache? Yes, that is a mustache not a dirty lip. Ryan thought that since Mustache March is coming he might as well get a good start on his mustache. No, not a fan, but I guess once a year is ok. Yes, it is red... and poky.
We had a really fun time snow boarding! We might even try it again here locally! Oh, and thanks to our friends for loaning us all the snow clothes! We would have been cold with out...

Winter Wonderland!

We took a little vacation to Colorado over President's Day weekend to visit Stacey and Heath and the boys. It was so fun!! More details later, but here is a super cute video of Jace and some sledding fun!

Newest Member of our Family

Yep, Ryan got a new car for CHRISTMAS! This was his excited face... I video taped the reveal but due to lack of excitement and no "Toyota", or in this case "Ford", jumps I have not posted the video. Photos will have to do...

The story? Well, we had been looking for a new car for a few months, and Ryan wanted a truck. Of course I didn't... Ryan did a lot of car shopping with me while I drove, and drove, and drove many different types of cars, with still no decision made. Once I suggested he go look at trucks, his eyes lit up and he did his shopping. He came home one days with deals from the Ford dealership and the Toyota dealership. All we had to do was go sign the papers. (And let me tell you, they were AMAZING deals!). I still didn't like the idea of a truck...
SO, I decided I would surprise him with the truck he had already picked out for Christmas! It was a really fun surprise! I didn't tell ANYONE! The dealership was kind enough to keep the car for a few weeks so I could bring it home for Christmas. I asked a friend of ours to help me pick it up and then he drove it to his house. While we were out on Christmas Eve our friend parked the truck in the back yard. (We have RV access... in case we ever get an RV...).
Anyway, we opened all our gifts on Christmas morning and then I told Ryan there was something else in his little ornament stocking. It was the car key. He was pretty excited. We drove around the neighborhood in our PJ's. It sure was fun!
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, Ryan did get me some awesome gifts for Christmas including crown molding!
We did some other fun Christmas things in December, like visit family, attend Christmas concerts, celebrate Christmas with friends, see Santa, and of course celebrate the birth of our Savior. BUT, I think the thing that we'll remember about Christmas 2009 is the new truck. It was fun for me to get and I know Ryan loves it.

November

So we started off November with our 4th wedding anniversary. Ryan had 2 weeks off because of his finger injury, and as luck would have it I had to work most of those weekends Ryan had off and he went back to work on the DAY of our anniversary. Not such good timing however we did have a fancy meal to celebrate!

I was so impressed! Ryan took it upon himself to make dinner AND he made some things he had NEVER made before! He made lobster tail!! He just asked some lady at the grocery store how to do it and he did it! He also made shrimp and scallops and all of it was just delicious! He did such a great job! Really impressive!!

We spent Thanksgiving in Thousand Oaks with the WINN clan. It was a blast! Ryan was lucky enough to have Thanksgiving day off and then he took Friday off too! We missed him Saturday and Sunday but that's just kind of how work it I guess...
Anyway, we had a blast! We did a turkey trot with the kids, we made these cute turkeys, we ate turkey and we sewed and slept a lot. It was really nice and really fun. The entire WINN family was there and we loved it! Ryan brought his bikes and the boys had a fun time biking, playing tennis, roof pong (an invented game by them), and of course eating and sleeping. All in all, November was a great month, except for the weight gain and excessive eating... ;)

October

Ok, I know. I have been a total slacker. However, nobody complained, so you can't have missed me that much! Here are some fun things we did in October!

We had a mini pumpkin carving party with just a few friends. Here is the outcome of our fun party!

Ryan and I on the left, Matt and Ginger with their two kids in the middle, and Brian and Heather with their baby on the end. Our dear friends Joelynn and Eli left a little early to put their little tyke to bed so we are missing them in our photo.

Ryan and I with our scary pumpkins. Ryan's finger was hurt, as seen in the previous post, so he wasn't able to do much of the carving, but it looks pretty good to me!

Ryan and he friend Jeff were kind enough to make our house a little nicer by filling our empty attic with insulation! Here is a weird photo of Ryan standing halfway in the attic as I look up to take the photo. I'd like to say that the insulation made a big difference, but we put it in before it got cold and it wasn't hot at the time, so we don't really have anything to compare it to... We will really be able to tell next year when we run the AC. We'll compare bills.

We went to the tri-ward Trunk or treat for about 30 minutes... We decided we needed costumes, so this is what we came up with...

Here are our cute friends Joelynn and Eli with their little shark Caleb. They came too, but after a little bit we decided to leave the "party" and hit Golden Spoon. Much more enjoyable!
