Boys and Girls

Everyone knows that boys don't really like to take pictures but they humor the woman in their life because they know the alternative is not a good option.


These boys decided it would be more fun to play football while the girls schemed about what angle the photos should be taken, what location had the best ambiance, who looked best next to who, and how to capture the children in their innocence.

Then, the boys fun turned to adventure when the football got stuck in the big tree. Now, it was more fun to try and get the football out of the tree! Each had their own idea for the solution. The girls wanted to watch the boys, and the boys put on a show for the girls, complete with acrobatics! Of course the boys did succeed, all the while the women in their life cheering them on to success.

Disneyland!

Thanks to my very special friend Susan, we were all able to celebrate Tiffany's birthday at Disneyland! We had SO much fun - even though it poured rain for about 2 hours. I was surprised how many "big kid" rides Sydney AND Haylee wanted to go on! We had a great time together at Disneyland and ALL weekend!

Getting ready to go in the "It's a Small World" tunnel. The girls were so excited. Sydney let Haylee hold her 2 fingers just in case she was scared. Just in case you haven't been on the It's a Small World ride lately they have updated it and it is MUCH better! They've added a few things and spiced it up a bit, and got new boats!

Tiff with her birthday pin. I made her stop so I could take a picture of her on our way out. We went on Space Mountain twice in a row and after that we were ready to head home and out of the rainy cold weather.

Slow Cooker Contest

OK, so I really like stuff that comes out of my "slow cooker", (crock pot). The only problem is that I don't have enough recipes to cook in it all the time. I think I have like 4... So, I am having a contest. Please submit your most favorite main dish crock pot recipe by posting a comment with your recipe.

I will crock pot the ones that look yummy and the winner can come over to our house and partake of Ryan's famous dutch oven peach cobbler! (It is yummy)!

Sometimes...

Sometimes, even with our best efforts, the outcome isn't what we wish it were. Sometimes I get frustrated when something isn't done my way, or doesn't come out the way I had planned. Am I really that selfish and self-centered?

Sometimes I feel like giving up. I think this time I will. I am going to just quit trying to do everything my way. I'll try a different way. Maybe someone else has a plan that is being thwarted because I want my way and his plan can't happen until I relinquish my control... to him... I give up. You can have it your way. :)

The Aquarium

Aaron and Jenn and their family, Mom and Dad, and Ryan and I all went to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach right after Christmas. It was SO fun! Ryan had never been before, so it was even more fun for him! (At least that is what I think).

Super tiny Jelly Fish! They really were amazing. Haylee wanted to touch them... I told her they sting like a bee... Not sure if she was convinced.
Just one of the HUGE fish tanks. It was so fun to watch the fish, sea otters, rays, seals, turtles and all the other sea creatures! We had such a great time! You should definitely go if you haven't been before!
